# Workspace Settings

> Configure your workspace profile and set default backtest parameters.

Workspace Settings has two sections: your workspace profile and the default
parameters for new backtests.

## General

Update your workspace's profile information at **Settings > General**:

* **Name** — the display name for your workspace
* **Description** — a short description visible to members
* **Logo** — upload a PNG or JPG image

## Backtest Defaults

Backtest Defaults set a shared baseline that prefills every new backtest in
your workspace. Instead of configuring the same parameters from scratch each
time, your team starts from a consistent starting point.

Default settings include:

* trading pair
* timeframe
* date range
* initial balance
* execution settings (fees and slippage)

### Execution settings

The execution settings section controls the cost assumptions applied to new
backtests:

* **Trading Fees** — maker and taker fee rates, with optional tiered schedules
* **Slippage** — choose from `None`, `Fixed`, or `Volatility Scaled`
* **Expert Settings** — order routing, advanced fee schedules, and volatility
  slippage caps

New workspaces start with `0% / 0%` maker/taker fees and `None` slippage. You
can update these at any time to match your actual trading conditions.

> Note: Fill logic (how orders are executed in the simulation) is handled
> automatically by Traseq and cannot be changed. You only configure the
> friction layer — fees and slippage.

### Where to find it

Go to **Settings > Backtest Defaults**. You can always override these defaults
on a per-run basis from the QuickRun panel.

## Permissions

Only **Owner** and **Admin** roles can edit workspace settings.
